The weather in September is fantastic and the vivid colours of foliage and the changing fells warm us all.
With the swallows gone, the bracken starting to turn and the brambles full of fruit all ringing the bells for last orders for the Bees and Butterflies as they begin to think of getting ready to bed down for the winter. Swarming bees were very evident this year, Howtown being no exception having a swarm over the front lawn! All in all, a season of rain, bits of sunshine providing plenty of encouragement for the gardens to thrive.
We have the Harmony and the spectacular light of autumn to look forward to, with every sunny day putting off the shorter winter days as the season of Howtown draws to a close.
It’s all in a day’s work at Howtown.
